ABOUT:
This work was initially intended as the opening music for the ballet, Seven Wells, but now appears as a stand alone work. The title, Seven Wells, is an ambivalent reference to the seven deadly sins: anger, covetousness, envy, gluttony, lust, pride and sloth. The narrative of the ballet revolves around the journey of a person who, although initially fortunate enough to be presented with favourable prospects, jeopardises all by struggling to mitigate the extent to which the seven deadly sins influence his/her behaviour.
