ABOUT:
This work takes as a starting point, a quotation from Leos Janacek’s opera, Jenůfa. In composing the work I attempted to create a broad “symphonic” sound using only percussion instruments with a focus on timbre, rhythmic development and sound spatialisation.

Jenůfa Percussion was premiered on the 9th of October 2002 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. It was performed by the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Percussion Unit conducted by Daryl Pratt.
